Paper Cup Helicopter Craft – Quick Fun STEM Project

Fun Fact: A helicopter’s main rotor blades spin so fast that the tips can reach over 400 miles per hour -close to the speed of sound! That’s why helicopters make that distinct loud “whop-whop-whop” noise in the air.

Here is what you need:

  1. One Paper Cup
  2. Construction Paper (Design your helicopter) & Cardboard (Make your blades)
  3. One Rubber Band
  4. Bead (This will allow the helicopter blades to spin with the rubber band
  5. Scissors & X-acto Knife (To make cuts in your cups/make rotor blades)
